UPDATE -- Electricity Outage Now Tuesday, Nov. 24

CSX has been informed that Pepco’s planned daytime electricity outage likely will occur on Tuesday, Nov. 24. The outage could last as long as 3 to 4 hours. This is to complete installation of a transformer in the Capitol Quarters courtyard. This work will start during the day and continue until completion. This work is not expected to creative disruptive noise, but may entail bright lights if the project extends after dusk. Residents who will be affected by the outage can expect to receive notices from Pepco in advance, and CSX will share additional information when it becomes available. We apologize in advance for any inconvenience the work may cause. This Pepco project is the last utility-relocation work CSX expects to be required in courtyard area of the 300 block of Virginia Avenue. Because so much work – 4 separate water cut-overs – was completed on Nov. 12, no additional utility relocation work is expected. As announced earlier, we now are working to complete the temporary sidewalks and driveways, install the remaining stockade fence and expect close the 300 block of Virginia Avenue for the duration of the project during the week of Nov. 30. Thank you for your patience and understanding while we have completed these important projects.
