Update on Streetscape Progress

As CSX continues restoring the Virginia Avenue streetscape and landscape, these installations, including streetlights, signage and other items, are happening in specific sequences in coordination with agencies and utilities. For example, energizing streetlights is dependent on several factors and approvals, including connecting groupings of lights with underground electrical circuits before an individual light is lit. Final street openings are dependent on oversight approvals and will be restored and opened as quickly as possible.

3rd & 4th St. Closings Saturday

3rd and 4th Streets will be fully closed individually one at a time to allow final paving of the intersections at Virginia Avenue. One of the streets will always remain open during the paving to allow access to one end or the other of the 300-block of Virginia Avenue for local residents. Depending on weather and rate of progress on Saturday, it is possible that one of the streets could be closed for the first part of the day and then re-opened shortly afterwards, and then the other street closed for paving and re-opened thereafter also on Saturday. Because of the nature of this work, there will be considerable equipment and personnel activity in and around the streets and driveways.

CSX very much appreciates everyone’s patience with us as we continue to push to get the streets completed as safely and quickly as possible.
